Dog Days of Summer at Principal Park!

Woof! This is one event we wait for every year! We decided to park the van at Gray's Lake and walk across the bike trail. The temperatures were in the 90's with heat indices over 100 degrees, but the temperatures were already dropping, so walking would be safe, as long as we all had fluids.

We put the date on the calendar as soon as we saw Dog Days listed on the ARL site

We checked the Iowa Cubs website, too - wa-hoo - Dollar Hot Dogs... and with 90+ degree weather, all the dogs were hot!

We got our tickets in the general admission area - our usual spot!

Gary found a great spot - away from the crowd (good for Gracie) with lots of shade!

At 6:15, the dogs started lining up around gate 15 for the parade!

We get more-or-less single file along the first base line, head toward home base, then turn toward third base.

Priscilla and Gracie enjoy the chance to move!

Ooh! Dog people!

Gracie and Priscilla get ready to great everyone!

Oh, boy! Puppy ice cream - peanut butter flavored!

Priscilla decided to share her ice cream with Gracie.

Dog Days - lots of happy puppies were in attendance

Some puppies must have been waiting for a baseball to chase!

Oh, yes...there's a game going on...

Watching the action on the field...

Dollar hot dog night - we don't tell our puppies that people are eating "dogs..."

Puppies come for water provided at the ARL table

Puppies enjoy water, and can take breaks near the exit

Puppies found a grassy spot inside the stadium!

Watching the game....or other dogs

Many fans watch the game just below the scoreboard

Puppies would rather visit each other
