Even though it's May 14, it's cold
here in Sioux City! Notice how everyone is huddled inside the shelter
house, and wearing jackets!!
This is the registration area.

The Dog Jog was sponsored by the
Siouxland Off Leash Association. A good crowd attended.
Priscilla was a little perplexed about selling "hot dogs" for lunch!!
|
Priscilla participated in the
Canine IQ contest - involving tests for problem solving, short term
memory, and vocabulary.
Priscilla had a perfect score - not surprising for a Border Collie..

A new dog park was being dedicated
during the festivities.
Dignitaries - and Newfoundlands - began to gather.
|
Wow! A representative from the
Lewis & Clark Expedition arrives!
|
The moment has finally arrived!
The leash-cutting ceremony marks the official opening of the dog park.
|

We learn about how important
Seaman, the Newfoundland, was to the Lewis & Clark
expedition.
Newfoundlands led the expedition into the new dog park!

Several dogs were still playing
off lease in the new dog park, so Judy decided to start several dogs on
the Dog Jog around the lake.
Here's a group gathering for the start.
|
It's about 3 miles around the
lake. Most teams are walking rather than jogging! Here's a small group
nearly hidden among the trees. After the jog, we picked up our goodie
bag, packed with awesome stuff, and chose a fabulous door prize. What a
fun day!
